1. Membership plans
The Archive offers the following memberships, billed monthly unless otherwise stated:
- Club – $349/month, or $299/month when billed annually. Full access membership.
- Cadence – $199/month. Up to 8 days of access per calendar month.
- Resident – $500/month. A dedicated desk reserved for you.
Day passes are available at $35/day when the front desk is staffed.
Memberships renew automatically each billing period until canceled. Cadence day allowances reset each calendar month and do not roll over.
2. Payment and fees
- Membership dues are charged in advance on your billing date through our membership platform (Coworks) and its payment processor (Stripe).
- Card processing fee: checkout passes the card processing fee (2.9% + $0.30) to you. If you prefer to be invoiced, the fee applies only if you pay the invoice by card.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, we may suspend building access until the balance is paid.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply to your next billing period after the notice.
3. Cancellation and refunds
- You may cancel your membership at any time by emailing info@thearchive.work or canceling through the Coworks app.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access through that date.
- Dues already paid are not refunded or prorated, except where required by law.
- Annual memberships are non-refundable. If you leave an annual plan early, no refund is given for the remaining months.
4. Building access
- Club and Resident members: door access weekdays 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM via the Salto app. Access is not 24/7.
- Cadence members: door access on your days of use during the same hours.
- Day-pass holders: access to the front and rear doors only, during staffed hours. The conference room is members-only.
- Access credentials are personal. Do not share your key, hold the door for non-members, or let in people you do not know. We may suspend access for security reasons.
- Front desk staffing varies; outside staffed hours, entry is by your own access credential only.
- We may close or limit access for maintenance, private events, holidays, or emergencies. We will give reasonable advance notice when we can.
5. Conference room
- Club and Resident memberships include up to 2 hours per day, capped at 4 hours per month, of conference room use. Cadence includes 2 hours per month.
- Book through the Coworks app. Unused hours do not roll over.
- Use beyond your monthly allowance is billed automatically at the posted rate.
6. Guests
- Members are welcome to bring guests during staffed hours.
- Guests either purchase a day pass (half or full day) or register at the front desk.
- Members are responsible for their guests and for making sure they follow these Terms and the house rules.
7. House rules and code of conduct
The Archive is a shared, members-only club. To keep it that way:
- Treat other members, staff, and the building with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior is grounds for termination of membership.
- Take phone calls in the phone booths or designated areas, not in shared work areas.
- Clean up after yourself in shared areas and the kitchen.
- No smoking or vaping inside. No illegal activity. No weapons.
- Do not move, damage, or remove furniture, art, or fixtures. You are responsible for damage you or your guests cause.
- The building is historic (built 1845). Treat it accordingly.
- Alcohol: allowed only at hosted events, and all events with alcohol require a signed waiver.
- Age: no one under 18 is allowed in the space during normal day access. Minors may attend hosted events only with a signed waiver.
- Pets: service animals only.
- Photography: no commercial photography or content shoots without prior permission from staff.
We may update house rules with notice. Serious or repeated violations may lead to suspension or termination of membership without refund.
8. Mail and packages
- A member mailbox (PMB) service is available. Signing up requires completing the USPS CMRA paperwork (Form 1583), which carries its own terms for address use and mail handling.
- The Archive does not accept liability for lost or misdirected mail or packages.
9. Events and rentals
- The space may be rented for private events. Members receive discounted rental rates. Event bookings are governed by a separate rental agreement.
- Events with alcohol require a signed waiver from the host.
- During private events, some areas may be unavailable to members; we will post notice in advance when we can.
10. Your property and security
- The Archive is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Dedicated-desk members may leave items at their desk at their own risk.
- The building is monitored by security cameras in common areas for the safety of members and the building. There are no cameras in restrooms or private areas; cameras record video only, no audio.
